Punta de Mita (commonly referred to as simply 'Mita') is on the North-West tip of the Bay of Flags "Bahia de Banderas", just 30 minutes NW of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport via modern highway. Puerto Vallarta is indicated by the red circle.
Las Marietas are a small string of islands about a 20 minute motor from Punta de Mita. They are a national park, inhabited by thousands of seabirds with great snorkeling.
The Banderas Bay is the largest bay in Mexico and the third largest bay in the world.
We are located a 5-10 min walk to the main beach restaurants and one block from this lovely white sand beach. 
This is the nearest beach, a 2 minute walk. The sand is a finer white than beaches to the north; (Sayulita, San Pancho, Santa Cruz, La Penita) because it is located just inside the bay and not exposed to the Pacific directly. 
This is the nearest beginner surf break, one block away. Super gentle and crumbly.
